This design provides for an addition to the house by removing the roof and adding a full height second floor with new roof above. The goal was to efficiently add more space and bring in an abundance of natural light. Shown below is a typical design scenario where after meeting with the home owners and discussing all of their needs and desires I design, model and present two to four options. Upon discussion further design options may be explored until one is chosen and refined. These discussions always vary and may result in design studies such as the last image to consider four dormer options on the gambrel roof. After thorough consideration of aesthetics, functionality and cost Option 1 was chosen and was completed in 2018.
